House in Aroeira

The intervention consists of the extension and renovation of a single-family house in Aroeira, originally developed as a single-storey dwelling, with the addition of a new floor and a swimming pool. The architecture stems from a desire to recover the simplicity of vernacular constructions, through elements, materials and building techniques that engage with the local identity. Elemental forms, simple materials and a timeless language are privileged, capable of responding to the present without losing the memory of place.
